Why use Environ?
Environ is the brand name for a range of skin care products that have been specially developed to help reduce the sign of aging.
Unlike off the counter cosmetic products which tend to sit on the surface of the skin. Environ range work by penetrating through the deep layers of the skin.
Formulated using pharmaceutical and medical science, Environ products are considered to be ‘Cosmeceuticals’ (a term used to describe the combination of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals) and should only be sold in a setting where assessment, consultation and treatment advice are given by trained professionals.
What is Environ?
Environs product range was developed by Dr Fernandes – a South African consultant plastic surgeon with a particular interest in the mechanisms of the skin. Through his cosmetic practice, he realised that high levels of vitamin A in facial products had a hugely beneficial effect on the skin. Until this point, only very small doses of vitamin A had been used in cosmetic products. Dr Fernandes launched his own cosmetic manufacturing company – Environ Skin Care (Pty) Ltd – in 1990 and developed a full range of cosmetic products, firmly establishing Environ as a leader in the field of skin care. As well as high levels of vitamin A, Environs products incorporate many other ingredients such as antioxidants. beta carotene, vitamins C and E, colostrum and peptides – all scientifically proven to improve the health and appearance of the skin.
Who would benefit from Environ
Anybody with an interest in restoring or maintaining good skin health would benefit from the Environ skin care range. The products come in a variety of formulations and strengths to meet the different needs of people regardless of age, ethnicity or skin type. The skin care range is particularly beneficial to those with pigmentation problems, scarred or sun damaged skin. It is also worth noting that the products are free from animal extracts, colourants, fragrances and preservatives.
How does Environ work?
Environ’s key products are based around Vitamin A which normalises skin cells. Vitamin A helps smooth and soften skin and protects it from the effects of ultraviolet radiation and free radicals which we are exposed to in everyday life such as from artificial lights and computers. Vitamin A promotes the production of healthy collagen and elastin. It also increases the skins natural moisture levels, and as dehydration is the cause of fine lines and wrinkles, this helps refine the skin tone and texture for younger looking skin. As the products contain active ingredients, it is important to allow time for the skin to acclimatise to the products. A 1 – 5 step-up system is usually recommended whereby you start with a step 1 product which contains low levels of vitamin A and then gradually work up to step 5 products which contain high levels of the vitamin.

Do I use the products myself at home?
Yes, you will need to have a consultation with an IIAA trained Environ prescriber such as myself. I will assess your skin suitability and recommend the most appropriate products for you. You will then take the products home and apply as directed.

At my skin-care clinic in Lisburn where you will be assessed by a fully trained skin professional who has over 20 years experience in dealing with and treating a range of skin problems such as acne, pigmentation, ageing, lines and wrinkles and skin tightening. the combination of Environ products along with various electro therapy facials where each facial includes a superficial and deep cleanse with exfoliation, steam and extractions carried out if and when required. A complimentary massage of the face, neck, shoulders, arms or feet is included. On completion a treatment specific mask will be applied followed by warm steam towels and an intensive skin serum. this will leave you with youthful younger looking skin and after just one treatment you will see a visible difference in your skin.
